My IC7 has a default AGP Voltage of 1.55. With ATITool I determined my MAX overclock on my 9800np. Sadly, my mem toped at ~315. I'm thinking, "OK, lets just try the AGP voltage. Can't hurt." At this point, (AGP @ 1.6v) my mem can't even hit 300... That leaves only one thing to do. After setting the vAGP to 1.5 I find my card to me stable at ~320. Not a huge increase, but it certainly didn't hurt.

To recap:
@1.55 - 315
@1.6 - less than 300 (stock is 290)
@1.5 - 320

Has anyone else seen similar results?

edit: It should be noted I did not test to see if the core overclock was affected.

Higher voltages means more heat so that seems quite normal. Especially if you got no heatsinks for the RAM.

That is also my thought. I was going to volt mod my card this weekend. If the temp is already a problem, I don't see how a v-mod will help. However, I was under the impression that vAGP didn't really matter because the card has it's own voltage regulations. (I know, why did I bother it in the first place then.) I'm gonna probe it a little tonight with my multimeter to see how much affect vAGP has on the the cards voltages.

I've compared the ram voltage at a few diffrent vAGP values:

1.5 - 2.78
1.55 - 2.78
1.6 - 2.78

So, how is it that my ram can OC further at 1.5, but at 1.6 it can hardly run a stock. So now, my top end is 410/315. (This is after backing off just a bit) Not a huge increase over the 400/310 I was getting at vAGP of 1.55 but a clear diffrence. Odd.
