Oblivion Settings for X800XL?

I want to do 1280x1024 because that is my native LCD res. But what other settings. Thanks.
 
My only recommendation is to turn the two shadow sliders all the way down (disabling shadows altogether.) I have an X800XT and Having shadows enabled drops my framerate by around 10-15 frames.

The rest you will just need to fiddle with until you get an acceptable framerate.
 
I run 1280x960 high details with bloom. No AA. Frames are usually good, except when there's lots of rain/foliage.
 
If you have the game and the card why do you need someone else to tell you what will or will not work? The game will autodetect graphics settings, and you can tweak it from there.
 
I don't have the game, but I am not going to buy it if I can't really run it, that is why I am asking.

You can run it, if you want AA then it'll be 1024x768.
 
im in he same situation ..

can i run 1280x1024, HDR, 8xAF

(im probably buying the game tonight so i'll find out soon enough)
 
Yeah you can but it's gonna get into the 10-18 FPS range when there is alot of rain or spells active on the screen. I would opt for no HDR and 4xAA and no AF and minimal draw @ meduim settings (if you want it fairly smooth). FWIW it seems to play ok and does not look bad at all when it does dip to 25'ish FPS at times.
 
You can't run HDR with X800 XL, only bloom. The option for HDR is simply greyed out.

oh ya duh, think i got use to running hdr with source and forgot im on SM2 lol
