Hey,

I've been trying to level my restoration skill as fast as possible, but it is a huge pain in the butt to do so. The fastest way I've found to level the skill is to select minor healing, and then jump off a cliff a couple times to hurt myself. Then i drain my mana pool casting minor heal on myself like 25 times. I hit a new level every 10 min or so, but it's annoying, is there a faster way?

player.setAV restoration x where x is the new amount you want....

Equation for time saved: X - old restoration value x 10 =

Let's say your current value is 50 and you want to increase it by 10...so you would just type in console

player.setAV restoration 60

The increase is 10, and if it takes you 10 minutes to level, then time of your live saved is :

10 x 10 = 100 minutes, nearly 2 hours of your life saved by cheating...

Cheating may ruin the game but it can save your life ;)

You don't need to be injured to actually practice restoration... You can just keep mashing the button to cast minor healing while you're going about your normal business... That's how I'm almost up to master in illusion just some doing starlight over and over.

That's exactly what i do too... if i'm running around, i'll just spam a spell over and over for practice. I really wouldn't call that cheating, since if i get attacked, which has happened more than a few times (going into bars and getting jumped by the mystic dawn, walking into the girl gang from Anvil, etc), i'm in trouble.

That's assuming he's playing the PC version.

Jam the button down and leave it overnight. If you have access, craft a spell in that school of magic that uses very little magicka so it will regenerate faster than it is used.

I would consider leaving it over night cheating and you might as well use the console. You are meant to advance in a an attribute due to frequency of use (i.e. practice). In the real world there would be a cost applied to practicing anything, since there is no such cost to many things in this game (magika regenerates for free, etc) forcing levels in this way is not necessarily cheating (I bunny hop all over the place). However, if you are not there doing it (like leaving it over night) then it is cheating.

but thats just my opinion.

It's a single player game... Whatever works for them.
