Anyone know what it is? Or is there somewhere I can go ingame and pay to get items charged? Very frustrating as a non magic using character to run out of charges ... I know frak-all about soul gems or whatever, I just want to pay however much to get the items charged back up or, failing that, a console command to do it. Thanks!

You have to get it done by an npc, any mages guild should be able to.

OIC. Nice and expensive, eh. That system needs some major tweaking -- 3000 gold to recharge my bow, all 42 shots or something.

You can use varla stones also, though its probably better to save them for later when you've got better stuff. Magic items start to become useful at around lvl 20 or so, when you've got too much cash lying around. Kill 1 bandit and loot his glass armor and you make a quick 2k gold. Im a marksman/blade user, what i do is keep 3 daedric daggers in my inventory (10 lbs each, 17 dmg + 25 magic dmg) with 70 charges each and just switch if one runs out. I also have the nice upgraded blade of woe from the dark brotherhood for special circumstances only cause its so light.

The other thing i do is keep around a staff that does 35 shock dmg over 2 seconds in a 10 ft radius (!). I can easily battle 2-3 enemies and ive only got 18 ac thanks to the brotherhood gear. I use tons and tons of magic gear, basically, but keep my carry weight light so i can make tons of money and im just breezing through the game at default difficulty.

Good suggestions. That's kind of what I'm doing, but carrying 3 bows around as each is useful in its own way.

One thing I've noticed though -- for any future character I'm picking armorer as a main skill and pumping it as much as I can right away. Impossible to level it up if you're not at journeyman level by the time you get to mid-teens in level, as you're now wearing only enchanted armor.

So true about armorer- i had it as a major skill and for a while regreted it, but i quickly realized how important it was. You can train it at the one weapon merchant in imperial city if you need to. What i did for a while was buy lots of repair hammers and pick up all the damaged gear from anyone i killed, repair it and just drop it. Also, i keep the hammers hotkeyed to speed up the process. You'll need it to be lvl 50 much sooner than it will get there.

Haha, good idea if a bit of a pain in the ass. I'll probably have to do it this way ... I've trained all I can for apprentice :(

thelead, NPC just stands for "non-player character", basically any character on screen that is not you is an NPC. So yeah, you can find NPCs in guilds, shopping in town, in dungeons, etc.
