I've been a very happy Silverstone SG-01E owner for more than 2 years now but I'm slowly starting to look for a new build. My plan is to go a small step larger, from mATX to a small midtower. The Lian Li A05B or A05N looked like the perfect candidate. Until a saw the news about the NZTX Panzerbox.

Granted, it looks much bulkier than the Lian Li (less deep though) but damn, what a case! Lots of possibilities in a small area. Reviews will have to reveal its cooling/noise performance.

Nice looking case. I like the black interior; more companies need to get away from the ugly gray imo. Seems a tad larger than what the pic posted seems to represent though. Still looks nice.

Look can be deceiving, All aluminum + not the best branded case company = shotty quality.

Those fans start at stock 1100 rpm, which for 190mm fans is not silent.
I hope the 'controllable' part means we can bring them down to 700rpm or so.
I used to not even give NZXT a look, but this case doesn't seem too bad.

Interesting location of the PSU, it allows for a smaller case depth while still being able to fit big tower HSF's.

Agreed, the specs show its 455mm (both H and D), which is 17.9". This thing is not a small midtower, its a regular size midtower verging on being a larger midtower. For example, its 3" taller than the Lian Li A-05, and even slightly taller than the CM590 (.5"). At this size, many people are going to find the 3 drive bays to be a con. The only place they seemed to go small was the depth, and i'm not sure why. However, for a NZXT case, it looks pretty nice.

Vent under the motherboard tray, why? What purpose does it serve?

Otherwise, seems alright, has power supply over card slots instead of over CPU area, which is more common in this style of PC. And with the removable tray, you won't have to remove the power supply to change cards... Just a mid-tower that adds width to move the power supply down from the top, but doesn't shorten the case substantially to achieve it... Intention of allowing room at the top for a 120x240mm radiator, so a smaller form case designed for watercooling?

Hmmm, you might be right about the size. The case might be bigger than they make it believe it to be. Would love to see some comparison shots with different cases.

hrm... 3 5.25'' bays. That would look nice for a file server with a 5 in 3 hot swap. ^_^
