I have seen a heatsink+fan for the graphic card, which looks a little different. The fan at one end, and the air gets pushed out. Is this type of heatsink good compared to the normal heatsink on the 6800GT?

Yes. It's good for your whole case, as a matter of fact. It exhausts the very hot air from the GT's core and memory directly out of the case, instead of having it float around the motherboard compartment, thus lowering your ambient temperatures, and your CPU temps. It is also better at cooling the video card itself than the stock cooler.

don't know for the 6800 type of cards, but i have one on my 9700pro - and it does make a difference. much more silent and better cooling as well. and as said before: the good part about it is that it exhausts the hot air out of the case, so case temps should drop a bit, too. i personally just swapped them, though, as the oroginal fan crapped out, so unless you plan on doing some overclocking you may as well stay with the old one IMHO.

ona asidenote: i've been travelling malaysia, singapore, china, laos, vietnam and thailand with my girlfriend for a couple of months AND we did actually stay in Kota Bharu for a couple of nights (to go diving to the perhentians). it's a fantastic and *beautiful* country you have there!

Anyone know the review sites?
Here is the Artic silencer which is being sold here, and RM3.80=US$1.00. So is it cheap?
I was thinking of getting the Vantec Fan card, but since this is here, maybe I should get this instead? My GF6800GT inno3d 256mb is using the same cooling as Nvdia, but says at the cooler the cooling solution provided by coolermaster. Looks same like stock to me. Is it better then the stock cooling? Anyone know good review sites for this?

have a look here and here for comparisons between different silent cooling solutions for vid-cards. both sites are in german, but it should be easy to decifer the graphs.

hope that helps,
j

PS: OR if you feel more like tool-time have a look at this :D

It works very well.. I got a 6C drop at idle and an 8C drop under load compared to my reference cooler. took my case temps down a hair.. about 1-2C. It doesnt move as much air as I had hoped but my temps are nice and low.
