Speaking of new NVMe..... Yesterday I got an email from Broadcom and got the attached PDF. Its all about NVMe over Fiber Channel. I had no idea they were even looking into that but why not since FC is just a transport. Pretty dang cool idea for an existing server environment where FC switches are already in place. One could deploy some new NVMe storage and the existing switches would not even know any different. The speed capacity of the upcoming 7th gen FC is going to be staggeringly fast too.
