I've never had a problem with this until recently. I do not even know what is the sudden cause of the problem. It seems to only happen as I play games. My games will freeze for a few seconds and then resume and I'd get prompted that my nvlddmkm drivers have stopped working.

What is the fix for this?

Um, lower your ingame settings. Its a vista driver issue. They are working on it. What setup do you have? Video card(s), system board RAM etc. I have the same issue.

SLI is crazy fast on games like WiC and I can push my setting to high on SLI 8600GTS's but my driver in Vista crashes, I am putting on XP to test tomorrow, but I am not sure its the driver or not. Kinda makes me mad as I have already worked hard to get vista working the right way.

The same problem happened to me on XP 32-bit, Vista 32-bit and 64-bit. It's most definately a driver issue. No known fix for it yet. Check your GPU core and shader clock speeds. Check the temps as well. Make sure the GPU runs @ ~80C, full load.

Then, I would suggest uninstalling your current drivers and then re-installing older ones - try the Forceware 158.45 drivers (get them at www.gamershell.com). If those give you the same problem, uninstall them and install the latest beta drivers, Forceware 163.75, and see how that goes. Also, make sure you have the latest nForce drivers and Windows updates.

WEEEEEE

Upgraded to the 163.75 drivers after uninstall in safe mode, driver cleaner and then installed them. NO CRASHES in WiC (also patched WiC)!! I am happy now!

All in Vista, not XP.
