Didn't see a thread on this yet, so I figured I start one ;)

I'm running Win7 beta (64 bit) on my main rig with a GTX260, and the Vista drivers have been working great. Then I downloaded the Empire: Total War demo yesterday. The land battle tutorial would start with a slideshow, and as soon as the first cannon fired, the image would go to hell. Pretty much a blank screen with some artifacts on it. Dropping the res and setting everything to "low" did no good.

Coincidentally (?) nVidia releases their Win7 beta driver today. Even though it's a lower version number than the current Vista driver (181.xx vs. 182.xx), it made a world of difference. The Empire demo stays at 30+ fps at 1920x1080 with just about every option on "Ultra". Kind of makes me wonder if the game engine is dynamically scaling the detail to maintain the framerate. Regardless, the driver change made a world of difference - enough that I decided to go ahead and buy the game :)
