Nvidia System Tools (nTune) problems

I downloaded the latest Nvidia System Tools 6.01. On my PC, when I bring up the Configure screen (the spin 3D view that shows motherboard, cpu, ram, hard-disk, GPU, etc. icons), the PC slows down to nearly a halt. Both cores hit 100% CPU utilization. When this happens, it's nearly impossible to do anything since the PC misses mouse clicks, the cursor moves in staggered jumps, etc.

This only occurs in the Configure screen. During normal operation, things seem to be OK.

Has anyone seen this problem?
