Here you go. Can't recommend this device enough. Love it.

How is the 2019 pro compared to the og 2015? My 2015 can't handle my media anymore. It's just not powerful enough. My Roku TV, surprisingly, can.

I've got this version of the Nvidia Shield Pro. It's easily the best streamer I've ever used. I never had the 2015 model. I have to believe this one has a faster processor and better features.

It's handled everything I've thrown at it so far via my Plex server (from my PC). I'm sure it can handle it directly too if I run a plex server on the device itself. The newer Roku's def have updated hardware compared to my old one, but It's nowhere neat as flexible as the Shield, especially combined with a VPN that I can run on it. However, as all Android based TV devices, I do reboot it every now and then when something feels off/sluggish. benefits>cons for me on this box.

It does. The newer one has a more powerful GPU, lower temps etc. It also has the AI upscaling feature. Not sure if its present on the older 2015 models.

I would compare with the latest Amazon sticks (specially during Prime price), they are really good with strong wifi 6, it plays my encoding to 90 mbs 60hz movie file, has AV1 support, bluetooth for controller-mouse-keyboard work well, steam streaming and what not:

What does a shield do that more for the price difference ? gigabit Ethernet-USB 3.0 out of the box instead of having to buy a module is nice, but that expensive.

Pick your poison. Google or Amazon. This just ticks alot of boxes for me over throwaway fire sticks, Rokus or chrome casts. Meh. Just choose whatever takes your fancy.

I think at this point I'm not gonna buy any streaming box that doesn't support AV1 or 8k natively. My current setup handles 4k (even HDR and DV) good enough.

Yeah, I have a 2017 and 2019 each with a 256GB external SSD attached as adopted storage.

I'm waiting for a new one to be released ... Hopefully lol

I have the 2019 tube model and its getting long in the tooth. Performance issues with kodi. In general not enough ram and laggy menus. Downgrading the firmware would probably help, because it used to be fast before a few years of updates.
Also the remote eats batterys and its a pain to keep rechargeables charged for it. First set of batteries lasted a month and over time they last a couple of days now. I think the gyro is bugged keeping it awake.

Picked up an apple tv 4k and sideloaded kodi and its like butter. Probably setup plex with real debrid soon, so that I dont have to resign kodi every week.
