Nvidia Physx

Dedicated PhysX cards are now a thing of the past. The current crop of Nvidia cards are fast enough to do PhysX in addition to the usual GPU work.

I believe he means to do a cheap nvidia card as a physx processor, and run his AMD GPU as his primary.

Yeah, that should be more than adequate. There IS a version of the 9800 that has no pci-e power connector though, if you'd rather :) Not sure if you can find one easy or not.

I have a degree in networking, but I haven't had much chance to use it here yet, and I have been out of school for a while. I'm a bit rusty. My main area of expertise is PC hardware.

I suppose we wouldn't be here otherwise, eh? I do remember my first PC being a Tandy 1000TX... back in... oh... 85? I think that was the year... I feel old now :( lol!

aside from the physx question what would be a good upgrade from my HD 4870 for less than $100 or even trade ?
