Well I was round my mate's today and he is pretty poor with computers (he's now mastered how to open a word document - I had to teach him
) but he is getting better now and he inherited this pc in a pretty weird way (it was kinda left to him, but I'm not gonna get into details) and he was amazed when I oc'd it from amd 1500+ to 2200+ (which was the highest the bios would go - no FSB or Multiplier adjustments) and he thought I could figure out why he was having a little trouble the the graphics card, as it simply wouldn't show up in windows, the adapter information was empty and it was using some generic VGA Driver.
Seeing as the guy who built it was pretty good, I highly doubted he had some crappy old gfx card, so I opened it up (as you do
) and I noticed a card in the AGP slot. It was a bit wobbly, though, as the screw to keep the plate fixed in was missing, so when pressure was applied to it, it'd move out of the agp slot a bit, but still work.
Anyways, I got it fixed in and I had a look at the markings on the card and from what I could discern, it was a Creative Nvidia card with P50 written on it, which I'm guessing is the core. So after that long and maybe pointless story comes the question. Is P50 the core and if it is, what card is it then? From what I've seen so far it could be a Ti4200, but I'm not 100% on that. Also, if I installed the latest Forceware drivers, would it show up properly in windows?
