Anyone had this error before? I have a 4095MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 (EVGA) and a ASUS Z87-A (SOCKET 1150) mobo.

There are lots of threads about this just googling but I've tried everything I could find apart from reformatting. I've gone into safge mode and unsintalled all nvidia drivers and reinstalled the latest, I've also uninstalled all drivers and reinstalled nvidia drivers from back in Nov 2015. Nothing seems to work. Anyone else had this issue and found a sticking resolution? Or is it that my motherboard is too old? I have the latest BIOS firmware but the latest means 2012.

Could be you just need to tweak some bios settings. Unstable memory is a possibility or cpu overclock? Its not always the card. There is no such thing as the mb being to old, at least not for one newer that mine lol...mine has a few years on yours and it bulletproof. How long have you been getting the crashes? Have you tried lowering the gpu clocks a tad to see if it has any effect?

I haven't overclocked anything but I could try lowering the gpu clocks to see if that fixes anything.

not sure how good nvidia is but amd will send out brand new cards with voltages to low...simple bios flash does wonders at times
