NVIDIA GeForce 9800 GTX Pictures

So what's the actual price for this thing going to be, I looked might have missed it.

I'm interested to see how the HR-03 goes with it. This is the 1st confirmation I have it fit's, I'll just need to look up on the heatsinks but to make sure theyre compatible since I'm unsure if I feel like going out and ordering those too. From that pic it doesnt look like he has heatsinks on the memory chips. If my HR-03GT fit's but I may just go the 9800GTX over the 8800GTS I had planned.Only $50AU more afterall.

Naked 9800 GTX

The memory layout and mounting holes of the 9800 GTX are identical, so the HR-03 GT should work fine. As far as him not having the ramsinks on.. who knows. Maybe that was just a glamour shot. He got a fairly decent memory overclock so I'll assume he attached them before firing it up.

Cheers, wasn't sure about the PWM chips over to the right of the board since the 8800GT's HR-03 comes with a few different sized sinks. To be safe about them I just ordered some cheap swiftech MC21's incase the size with the others is an issue. If not, no loss.

Think I'll get the GTX anyway...going from an ATI X800 it should be a nice upgrade and it's a pretty decent price too.

HEY KYLE....

Do you think this time, in the review, you could hook up the SPDIF/HDMI passthru cable to confirm that this function works? Some [H]ard people do actually connect thier systems to thier HDTV setups and AV Recievers, etc. It would be good to know it works.... or that they castrated it like they did on the first few months of 8800GT production (OEM's failing to populate the circuit).

Thanks in advance.

Oh, and from the looks of it, the 9800GTX might actually fit a AC Accelero Xtreme 8800. Which would be really, really awesome.

Can you confirm?

If so. I concur.

Can't confirm anything... but when I see the "9800GTX naked" pics, it looks like only the screw holes would have to align properly for it to fit. All components on the GTX seem low-profile enough to fit it.

Looks like at least 1 screw won't fit. :( Provided that this is the reference model and all other models will be alike....

Anybody able to clarify whether the 9800gtx is the same size or bigger than an 8800gtx??

Looking to upgrade from my 8800gts 640mb but I first need to know how big the card is.

such a big cooler. when will they come out with new ways of cooling? like a break through in cooling science. sheesh.

Can someone tell me if you can put an Auzentech Prelude Sound Card on that Motherboard with the
2 x 9800GTX?

thanks

If you use the stock heatsink, the Auzentech should fit no problem.
I run a X-Fi between my GTXs.

Ugh, had to take out a HDD just to fit my GTS. Don't think I'll be able to stuff a larger card in there...

Thanks! It just looks very tight with the two 9800gtx :) on the photos
It wouldn't fit between the aftermarket heatsinks shown in the photo. Plus all the heat is dumped into the case using those causing MB/CPU temps to climb to unstable range...
