I'm very scared to install any new NVidia driver. There is a known problem with Windows 8 giving you the screen flickering after installing NVidia driver. Basically, it renders your PC unusable. When Windows 8 boots, it just goes into a black screen, the monitor would flicker, then dies, flickers, then dies. Search on the internet, there's are tons of reports about this problem.
