So... I take it this voids the warranty.

Took apart my monitor and it only took about 10 minutes thanks to the tutorial video from Nvidia. Should receive my kit tomorrow.
Hope G-sync is all its hyped up to be but if anything ..no more vsync for the win.
Godmachine... how are you setting your games? V-sync on/off? Adaptive v-sync? How high of a frame count have you seen? Was the color calibration required?
To those that have used it, does it noticeably help out in other ways besides screen tearing? For some reason I just never see it, even when others watching the same screen do. Besides low framerate, the only thing that really gets me is aliasing.
What exactly comes with the kit? Someone mentioned that a display port cable is included but there's no mention of this anywhere to back up the claim.
It isn't a solution to uneven frame pacing in general, no.
Mine does that as well. I don't mind cause if you turn it off and on you'll notice it is almost instant.
I agree, this installation was tedious, but with a little patience and care, I think anyone can do it.Got my kit and installed it successfully!
Couple things to note:
1) The 30 minute install time is grossly underestimated for the average modder. I took over an hour to complete this modification. Although, I was EXTREMELY careful not to damage the plastic or LCD in process.
2) The PCB in the video is not the same as the one you'll receive in the kit (at least it wasn't for me). They are very similar but there are a few changes such as brown connector for the blue ribbon, there is only 1 J1 input connector now and no J2 input connector, and the AC port cover doesn't snap on (you have to use electrical tape). However, the manual provided with the kit is up to date as far as I can tell.
3) Overall, the install for me was a 6/10 for difficulty. It's about average difficulty, its just very tedious with the reuse of metal tape and aligning everything properly.
But I have to say that the difference is HUGE, at least for me. I only played Battlefield 4 which suffered from screen tearing and severe frame drops and variability. With G-SYNC my experience now is extremely fluid and I do not notice any tearing, stuttering or notable frame drops. It's ridiculous, it almost feels like the game is a lot more optimized when in reality nothing with the game engine changed. I am going to continue playing and try out a few different games to see how it works. I'll update everyone later!![]()
Will this fix microstuttering? For those who have used it, will it help that at all?
