I have an EVGA 8600GTS which supports dual monitors.

I want to set the primary monitor (1920 X 1200) to be on my right side. I want the secondary monitor (1280 X 1024) to be on my left. They are different monitors, but both are DVI, and these are their native resolutions.

What occurs is when I select the resolution of each and the location (L/R) of each that I want, when I invoke the settings, the driver either freezes the PC or it changes the location and resolutions. I really scrambles the settings.

I have tried switching the DVI connections, but no workie!

Have any ideas?

Reboot.

If you've only had one monitor connected to the card, connecting a 2nd card (while windows is working) will only enable spanning the desktop till you reboot and get this dual view option. Well at least for me its been this way.

Only after this option listing my dual monitors that I was able to sett each monitor at their native res.

I didn't realize that I had two display controls.....nvidea AND Windoz. All I had to do was go to the Windoz control and drag one display to where I wanted it. done, courtesy of EVGA Support!
