is it just me or does nvidia have like 50 different beta drivers out? I was just wondering which drivers do you guys use, and which do you think are teh best.

right now I am using the 71.24 by Vstudios
 
Do those 71.24 drivers by VStudios fix the problem with the "piss-colored water" in Half-Life 2 that I've heard so much about in reference to any of the betas out right now?
 
Ive never had that problem with any drivers Ive used..... but so far teh v studio are the best drivers Ive used.
 
I got installed those 67.65 Vstudio drivers, and my score in 3dmark03 dropped from like 13496 to 12987
 
Who cares about benchmarks if the games run smooth and look good? I'll never understand the "my score dropped 100 points in 3dmark. The drivers are shit!" posts.

There's no difference between nVidia's beta drivers and their "official" WHQL drivers. WHQL is nothing more than a MS label.

And for me, 66.82.
 
i wish someone would just say which performs best yet keeps the quality. i've prolly went through a dozen drivers on guru3d, right now 66.93

I would say more like in the 100's... That was my major dislike about my 6800GT I had before it died.
 
67.03's for me. I get random BSOD when exiting games with the 71's (tried a fresh XP install too). Those extreme G drivers don't seem to be a major difference for me.
 
i ahd the .76 driver but i kept crasing hard something about a vxd error so im on the .93 driver now and its working better

The thing is, there is no 1 magic driver that is the best, due to the fact that everyone's system varies by some degree whether it's hardware, software, or tweaked settings.

Trying out various drivers and sticking with what you feel is the best, is the way to go. Just like what you did.

Not really. Take the latest official driver and you're most likely set. If you DO have problems with anything then, try one of the betas. It's not that hard really. It's only confusing for people who try to squeech out 1-3 fps in certain games without knowing why exactly they're doing this in first place.

Honestly, usually the official drivers give you good performance and good stability. If that's not the case with your rig, then try a beta driver. It's really that easy. Who cares about 2 or 3 fps more if we're talking about the difference of 90FPS or 93FPS?!

All those beta drivers junkies do it for bragging rights in certain benchmarks imho. I wonder how often they "play" 3dmark. Must be a heck of a game.

I just installed the Vstudios 67.65 2 days ago. Definate improvement over the Vstudios 67.03 I had installed for quite some time. Went up about 10FPS in CSS stress test with their high quality version. Very impressed!

I go for IQ over anything else. I dont even have 3dmark on my comp anymore.
 
LOL, would you prefer it if Nvidia didn't hardly do any driver updates? Just be happy that Nvidia is on top of things when it comes to drivers. And I agree with the post above, just download the latest official driver and you should be all set, or just use the driver that came with card. The majority of times that will be fine for most anything and only update when you have a problem.

The problem is people load up every leaked and beta driver out there when they don't need to and bitch when it toasts their system.
