53.03. Are they any good. I heard that one of the newer driver versions they released was bad but not sure which one. If these are bad can someone link me to the good drivers?

Well since you are running a GF2 I don't think you will see any difference between any of the new drivers.

I will be using a GeForce3 TI200 128 as soon as I find out how to get the older drivers

From what I've read the 5#.## NVIDIA drivers actually produce slower performance than many of the older driver versions on anything other than a GeForce FX series card. Since you still have a GeForce2-based card, I'd say that you'd be wasting your time with any driver higher than 30.82. And if you're getting a GF3, then you may go to the 4#.## series. As a matter of fact, I wouldn't recommend anything higher than 45.23 on even a GF4 Ti4### series card.

The 45.23's and the 44.03's are the best two drivers versions I have tried with my Geforce 4 Ti .. any higher than the 45.23's and my performance really drops. I suggest the 44.03's, its what im using at the moment and it seems to treat my friend's Geforce 3 very well too.

I upgraded drivers on my back up computer (win98) with a GF2GTS. I think I had some old 23.11 or maybe like 28.xx on there before. Anyway, recently when I restarted my computer I was getting "Windows Protection Error - please reboot" And I could only boot in to Safe Mode. Turns out I think it was b/c I hadnt completely removed all of the old stuff or maybe the 53.xx didnt sit well with it.

So I completely uninstalled everything. Removed any left over registry settings, etc. Then installed the 45.23 drivers and everything is fine. I benchmarked it and it was slightly slower at 3dMark2001. (but it could be b/c the system is running slightly slower than I used to run it when it was my main box)

Here's official older drivers

P.S. 44.03 have the best performance

with the 53.03 on the gf2gts cs wouldn't even open. Gonne try out the 45.23 when I get home.
