So I upgraded my hard drive today, and I'm in the process of installing drivers for my hardware.

I try to install the nvidia drivers, I get "drivers not compatible with this version of windows"

I have a new copy of Win10 Pro 64bit, and I choose the win 10 64bit driver. I'm hoping it is because I do not have all of windows updates installed yet. Has anyone else run into this problem?

I should mention, that this is the first time I have used this copy of win 10, before this, I have always used the win 7 upgrade.

you need win 10 build 1511 at least to install the win10 drivers for gtx 10xx. found this out last weekend myself. you probably got the initial release of win 10. So you either need to install all the updates or find a win10 b 1511 and do clean install. The latest win 10 is actually 1607.

Some times the Nvidia drivers will fail to install for me and I need to restart a couple of times.

Thanks! I will update windows and report back.

How do I know what build I have?
