Why the hell are they 120Mb's?

I mean how big are videocard drivers going to get.

I understand 10-30Mb easily. 40-60Mb seems like its pushing it, maybe they need less app. specific optimizations included & more generic optimizations.

But 118Mb's of the current release! WTF?!

I get the feeling that has to do with the programs and the new physics engine they are encorporating with them now.

Yes it include the PhysX support and F@H support. NVIDIA is touting as a great driver but we need to try it to see.

the added physX support could be a HUGE portion of that increase.

Also, just noticed its the international language version that I downloaded. Maybe bloated b/c its not the Eng. only version ?

Here's a linky that'll get you right to slimmed down versions (I think they're US only?) along with access to modded inf's if you have the need. :)

All bullshit aside, is there any appreciable difference in Folding using the .83 drivers?

i seen on XS its somewhat slower folding actually, did a quick crysis bench at all high no AA 1680x1050 gained about 1.5fps across the board compared to 177.79 drivers, IQ looks as good or better.

I find the .83 drivers to fold faster. Down 3 sec/1%, from 83 sec to 80 sec. A gain of 143 WUs per Folding-Year.

Wow that is the first I've heard of these driver helping someone. I might have to test them out on one of my setups. I figure if it doesn't help I can always roll back.
