I am having a severe issue with my games forcing 1440x900 res with nvidia drivers, where as my ATi setup I had prior to my new 8800GTX would do 1440x900 no problem. The only thing I can think of "setting" wise, I included in a picture, but the drivers wont allow me to set anything, as its "grayed" out? How can I get these settings to "Un-Gray" themselves? Thanks

That is not normal , unless perhaps you need to load an inf for your particular screee. Otherwise I would consider running driver cleaner to make sure you got rid of all your ati driver remnants and your current nvidia driver and then load the latest nvidia

PS , as far as running at your desired resolution , you would simply set in using windows. the section you are showing would determine as to whether it would play in with black bars around it ( assuming your screen resolution is higher) or whether you scale it to fit your presumably wide screen display

Finally , and do not take this the wrong way but an 8800gtrx is total overkill for the resolution you speak of. A 8800gt will perform just as well. The 8800gtx would have no benifit over a gt at such a low resolution

This is a fresh install of XP64 only hours old, and the nvidia driver is the first driver installed as far as video is concerned. I do not have a monitor driver installed, perhaps this might be the issue. My monitor (Hanns-G) doesn't have a driver on there website, do I use a generic driver? Crap......Maybe I can use a viewsonic driver as my 28" panel, is the exact same as the viewsonic 28" panel...Hmm:cool:

No dice, I installed the viewsonic vx2835 driver, and still greyed out! I need this option, please does anyone know what else I can do? Thanks

Install an older version of nvidia drivers

unfortunately, new drivers are all broken regarding this, mine is also all greyed out wheras it worked fine with older drivers (same hardware of course)

Really, I wasn't aware of this. Thanks so much for the reply. Lets hope nvidia FIXES this damn issue quick.
