nVidia !!!!!! - convert me to ATI!

I'm building a new PC right now and well I've always loved nVidia and I was looking at a 6800GT, but the stuttering issues with it really turn me off. I do not want to have to go through all that bullshit with trying to figure out why it stutters in certain games, etc. I just wanna buy a video card, install it, maybe OC it and forget about it. I mainly play Call of Duty, BF 1942, BF:V, UT2004 and I wanna play the new Half Life and the new CS. So what card would be good for me, and please just don't post a model without an explanation as to why you chose it. I've never, I repeat never, have heard of any problems with ATI so that's why I'm looking at them currently. All the problems that I hear about are about nVidiot (NEW ATI Fan Boy slang that I picked up) :D , I mean nVidia. Hell go to the nVidia flavor and every other post is about something being too hot, lock ups, artifacts, etc. I may go with the 6800GT, it is up in the air as of now I'm just trying to get you guys (ATI Users) point of view as well.
 
With the tweaks I've used on CS Source (with very minimal graphic loss) my 9600XT kicks the shit out of it, it also does fine in all the other games you mentioned, except for UT2k4, because I've never tried it.. But it runs UT2k3 fine, which to me, is basically the same game, except Ut2k4 has vehicles.. But yeah, my 9600XT has served me well, but is being sold to my friend at work so I can buy a 9800Pro. If your wanting a top of the line card (which Im assuming you are, since you only mentioned this gen nVidia cards) I'd end up getting the X800XTPE, just because really, both the X800XTPE and 6800Ultra are just as good as each other, but the 6800Ultra is more futureproof with its SM3.0, but really.. From the problems you hear, is that really worth it? One last reason why I'd get the X800XTPE over the 6800Ultra is because the ATi cards are cheaper in Canada then the nVidia ones, Im assuming its due to ATi being Canadian, thus don't have to pay anything to get it here.. Since its already here.

The 6800GT is a great card, and this is coming from an ATI fan (I'm staff at Team Radeon). In fact, I've suggested it to my friends, and one of them went ahead and purchased it. The way I look at it, the 6800GT is the best value for the money and offers a wide-range of performance on a variety of games. Personally I own an XT-PE because I feel that it is the very best card around, but it's only for those who can find one and stomach the cost (and a regular XT is also fine, although most are PCI-e at the moment). The X800 Pro is a good choice only if you're willing to modify it appropriately, otherwise it generally falls behind the 6800GT.

I have heard of these 6800GT problems and my friend has had *some* issues with his card. But, you know, stuff happens. It's part of owning expensive hardware. Just go for the better card. It looks like you're shooting for high-end, in which case I suggest the XT-PE/XT as #1, and 6800GT/X800 Pro as #2, depending on a number of things: availability, price you're willing to spend, and the amount of effort you're willing to put towards a Pro modification.
