Is there a point to adjusting the video color, video image, and desktop image settings in the Nvidia Control Panel when calibrating a monitor? I never see it mentioned in any threads. What's the purpose of Nvidia providing these adjustments if they aren't needed?

No. Any adjustments should be done with the controls on the monitor itself.

Those controls are for you in the event your monitor has no controls built in. They normally just compress the available color info though and often will cause banding.

Therefore they should be avoided especially if you have a TN Panel since those have a more limited range and use dithering

Well, I typically use these controls only to adjust the brightness of the overlay, i.e. some video playing.
