Nvidia control panel not showing up

It has recently come to my attention that Vista has updated my drivers.

That is ok, but I no longer have the Nvidia control panel. In fact, the only drivers that ever worked with the control panel was the 182.50. Is there anyway to enable the control panel anymore since I lack the 182.50 drivers? I can no longer set AA for some of my games (because they lack an option in the settings menu) with the lack of a control panel.

Alternatively, is there are 3rd part program that allows me to set the AA in my games with for my GTX260?

Specs:
Vista Home Premium 64bit
GTX 260 EVGA
4GB RAM XMS2
ASUS M3N78 Pro
Antec Earthwatts 500
WD 1TB
AMD 9950BE

Nothing overclocked of course.
 
just update the drivers yourself and don't let vista update them. anything from 258.96 and up are fine. i'm still using the 258.96 drivers since nvidia doesn't update for the 8/9 series anymore but i think theres some updates for the 200 series in the 260 and later drivers.

I get the same issue when I update them myself (all 15 times I tried). I've tried 6 or so different drivers so far, and only the 182.50 supports the control panel for me. That is why I've kept the 182.50 for two years - all the rest don't work.

Only reason I updated was because Vista/Nvidia apparently did it. I didn't even noticed until I loaded a game up today...
 
only other way to fix it would be to uninstall the drivers, reboot and install the drivers you want. i've had it happen before but usually only happens when rolling back drivers. never seen it happen when installing new drivers. if that doesn't work then theres something else wrong but i'm not sure what it would be.
