Is it just me or does the hardOcp website lean heavy toward Nvidia?

Seems like its hard for them to see ATI making gains and whenever a chance presents itself they trounce on them to push Nvidia!
Maybe they hate Canadians??

It's just you. OCP has always been fair. Also, if you honestly feel that way, maybe you should read a bit more around the [H].

let the flames begin :eek:

Last round of cards ATI was the winner now its a close competition but GTs seem to be the fav. I think there is no bias Its just that Nvidia has one great card now

Why are you posting this as a newbie? Many people think just the other way around that hardocp is a bunch of fanatics ;)

I think they are fair.

Last round Nvidia was being trounced upon, this round ATI is. It just depends who has the better card at the time.

ROFL

They are definitely NOT nVidia bias. I think Brent is more of an ATI fan from the fact he's always responding in ATI threads and sticking up for the X800 but usually doesn't have much to do with the nVidia threads :p.

Hard is well known on other forums to be more of an ATI site then nVidia lately. And because of the 9800 pro they had pretty good reasons to be.

Their reviews are pretty fair though even if i do disagree with some of their methods and settings they use sometimes because once in a while they appear to lean towards ATI a little. But thats just my own opinion.

The Hard forums are some of the very best out there as we have a TON of knowledgeable people that support all different brands so we never miss much.

You can usually tell alot about a Hardware site from their forums and i think you can see what i mean from the raw number of posts in the ATI section and the fact there are ALOT of strong ATI supporters here.

When the 6800's just started hittings the streets here a few weeks ago, you would about get your head taken off if you dare to say the 6800u was better then the X800XT PE lol. Its since then died down alot at there are strong supporters for both sides. Both companies have excellent cards with top notch features.

Performance wise the 6800u and X800XT PE are equals.

I see Flames, and I've got one hell of a "fire truck" to put them out.

To the thread author, if you have actually read and participated on the OCP website and forums you will have seen over the years how Kyle and company have been accused of being biased towards both Intel, AMD, ATI, Nvidia, and 3DFX , and a few others I'm forgetting over the years. Quite honestly it's almost funny to watch as the so called bias shifts from company to company depending upon how some piece of hardware performs and readers don't like it. Give it some time and you'll see the same thing, but it takes some time.

Hehe, this reminds me of how Bill O'Reilly on Fox News loves to read one email from a viewer calling him a leftie. Then he immediately reads another one calling him a right-wing fanatic. Both in reference to the same show/segment.

Not that I'm a fan. And let's not talk about O'Reilly. But I always thought HardOCP was (legitimately) Pro-ATI. So it cracks me up to see people claiming the opposite. :)

H

we all know that they perfer matrox :D how else did the MATROX G4+ 16MB out perform the 6800 and the x800 :p :p

Back when the ATI 8500 first came out and OCP found a few "quirks" including the Quake / Quack optimizations, lots of people said Kyle was biased against ATI then. Again it changes as OCP tests hardware and discovers different issues. Give it some time and it will change again. :D

I am pro whatever video card is the best, I don't care who makes it, if its the best, I want it.

I think what [H] said in their newest review is most likely true. The 6800GT will become the video card of choice since you get a blazing fast 16 pipe card for 399.00 that overclocks to Ultra speeds.

You have a tough job. One day you're pro-ATI, the next you're pro-NV. ;)

ahhhh words of wisdom, it dont matter who makes it, as long as it is the best and i have it there is no problem.

jeez everybody chill. this is the guys ONLY post.. he's obviously just ruffling feathers. he could be anybody.

i dont think ati is being trounced upon seeing as the x800 XT will still likely be THE best performing card (whenever it becomes widely available that is..)

not that im not happy to have my 6800  because i love the darn thing..

First they were accused of leaning too far with nVidia, then ATi, now nVidia again. Sad. Leave them the hell alone, they have good reviews and do not have bias towards either.

very well put
funny how bias is viewed when one card or part is given a good review. also compared to other reviews, few compare to [H]ardocp. Few test and comment as intentsive as this site or Anandtech. Magazines like Max. PC and PCMag, PC Gamer run like mostly synthetic tests and few real world tests and usually only run 4-8 tests max and made a conlcusion off that. no wonder it was so different from sites like [H]ardocp. keep up the awesome work.

I don't know why people are fans of companies. They don't care about you, they care about your money.

I'll take it one step further and say I am pro for the best card when I get my tax refund. :D

Your the same lamer who posted over at NVforums, same topic..I notice you're a newbie. Man, u must WORK FOR ATI go away...

you're pathetic.

I started coming to this site just because of all the ATi stuff i saw, and liked :D
I don't mind all the love for nVidia, even though i'm not too fond of them. It's good to have hardware that's very competitive... :D

Did you just start reading HardOCP last week?

We are "biased" as to what products we see giving the best gaming experience for the dollar. Certainly there are a lot of factors that go into that, but that is the bottom line.

Please point out where you have seen that is is hard for us to see ATI gains. We have spent the better part of the last two years writing exactly about ATI gains. The market right now in the mainstream sector is about as evenly matched as we have ever seen it.

When was the last time you saw HardOCP give an award to competing products in the same market? Answer: Never until this last week. Those products being the BFGTech GeForce 6800 GT and ATI Radeon X800Pro.

Do keep in mind that for a company to have a great product, does not mean that everything else has to suck....

I've been reading the [H] and the forums for 4 years now and while I don't always agree with all the methods I have seen them call out many companies for crap products and be complimentary to the very same company for another product the next day. Just 2 weeks ago there was a thread here about how the [H] was ATi biased. How quickly things change. They favor only the best product, whatever it may be.

i have been reading H for about 6 years now, and they have always been fair. ATI X800Pro is just beaten by the 6800GTs( 16 > 12 pipes).. Thats why they are so quick to announce another X800 sku to give users full 16 pipes at a lower clock.

It only goes to show just how influential [H]ard has become over the years......and why people keep coming back. Keep up the great work gang....

This is just what I was thinking. [H]ardocp is one of the most trustworthy hardware review sites on the net. I'm not saying that to suck ass. Anybody that's been here for a while knows that gets you nowhere here. It is my honest opinion. I've seen Kyle and the gang call out to many of the big dogs in the hardware market to think otherwise. They are fair.

with that, which i agree with, is that [H]ardocp is clear cutt with their conclusions. its blunt and straight forward, and a buyer like me knows what im getting. many magazines and some sites have a nasty habit of saying, "well it fails in all this, but this one tiny thing is so good we think its ok instead of just saying its bad. keep up the awesome work.

You're joking right? Just look above at the Ati Flavor/Nvidia Flavor subforums and see which has more traffic.

[H] Is most definatly not biased To nvidia  But the forum its self seems to have got a touch of the GREEN FEVER :p lately  I prefered it when it was REDHOT J/K!

Uh. [H] declared the ATI as superior in this last round. The first real support of NV in the latest round was the 6800GT to which ATI is bringing a response. n00bie.

damn skippy...being "company" biased is silly...u just need to know whats the best product at a given price range.
