They're really screwing the PCIe market. You can go from a 6600GT to a 6800GT or Ultra. Why no 6800nu? Everyone is getting $200 6800 and it makes baby midgets cry when they are stuck in 6600 land..

ATi seems to have PCIe support across the board. Why Nvidia? Why?
 
Your right, I can't seem to find them either. Strange world when you step away from AGP
 
If you've made the leap to PCIe land, then you might as well keep on going until you get to the 6800GT district. That's probably 10% more total cost (cost of your system) to net you 100% more gaming goodness. That'll be the best extra $199 you spend this year (unless you get a lap dance upgrade in the VIP room at the New Century with Summer....make sure she's the raven-haired girl with the small hooters though. I can't vouch for *all* the girls who dance under that name....)
 
I was thinking about just saying fuck it and doing that buy I can't seem to find a 6800GT for less than the price of an AGP 6800 Ultra. It's rape I says.
 
Looks like the shift is on for PCIe. I was complaining to Kyle about 4 months ago that many unscrupulous websites were advertising the X800/Pro with an MSRP of $499 (which of course is about $100 of a lie).

Anyway, there appears to be a 6800 PCIe here:

with a manufacturer's sku of NX6800-TD256E (which doesn't even appear on the MSI website) and of course the same price as an AGP 6800GT @ $399,
 
I've always hated MSI but that's the first resonably priced PCIe 6800GT card I've seen. Will have to mull this over . . .

I strained and strained, but I could'nt read where that link said 6800GT. Maybe I don't have the best critical reading skills, but isn't it just a regular old 6800 with 256 ram? The 6800GT that I can see there is also clearly marked AGP. The 6600GT there is PCIe. But what 6800GT there do you see?
 
Check to make sure. I don't think it's GT. I think it's a mysterious 6800 PCIe who' at the start of this thread we didn't think existed. Otherwise, I think the part number NX6800-TD256E would read NX6800GT-TD256E instead.
 
Yes, you guys are probably right. So what do we have here from Nvidia?

A 6800 PCIe that costs roughly that of a 6800GT, at a time when 6800s are going for $200!!!

ARGH!!!!!!
