Unhappy camper here today. Why? I'll tell ya why.
It seems as though nVidia and I do not like each other. We can coincide just fine. But we sure as hell don't care about each other.
I have two computers. One with a 4200 and one that was just upgraded to a 6800oc from a 9500pro.
I have never had any screen issues with any ATI card that I have owned. But when it comes to nVidia......I'll be damned. Not major issues, remember, we can coincide but that really doesn't mean much. I'll get to the point.
No matter what screen resolution or refresh rate I have the display set to on the ATI cards that I have owned, I have never had any problems. The nVidia cards have been nothing but trouble in this respect. Right now, I have both nVidia cards set to 12/10 with a 60hz refresh rate and it's running fine. If I try to increase the refresh rate, my screen jumps around. Both cards. Two different systems. But it gets better, go to the display properties and on the settings tab, click advanced. Flicker, flicker, shake, or a flat out refresh like I just finished playing a game. WTF is up with that? Why is it either or? And why with the nVidia cards? What is refreshing the monitor for?
Does anyone else experience these things? Is it just me?
Main box is:
AMD64
MSI Neo2 Platinum
other stuff
other box is:
Dual p3 866
tyan tiger
other stuff
Monitor is NEC Multisync 97F running on an IOgear two port KVM.
Oh, I have the monitor drivers installed on both systems and I have tried the monitor plugged directly to both computers for testing.
I gets no love.
