NVIDIA Adaptive VSync vs. VSync + Triple Buffering

Nvidia Adaptive VSync looks a good option vs. VSync + Triple Buffering, as it presumably does not suffer from lag?

I just wanted to canvass opinions, is there any point in enabling triple buffering with Adaptive VSync?

There is no point since it just shuts itself off when under 60FPS while Vsync would force you to 30FPS if you didn't have Triple Buffering on. Just adds input lag, so just use adaptive without it.

You won't get rid of tearing with adaptive vsync when the framerate drops. There is a program that was mentioned here that forces "proper" triple buffering which doesn't suffer from input lag. Forgot what it was.

D3DOverrider?

Yeah that sounds right. It's what I had to use to get vsync working properly in Dead Space without adding terrible input lag.

Many thanks all, I've downloaded the most recent version I can find of Riva Tuner 2.24C and extracted it from that.

I'll give all three options a try and see what works best with the latest 301.24 nVidia drivers
VSync + triple buffering
Adaptive vsync
Direct3D Overrider

I've been using Adaptive VSync for awhile now and it seems like there may be some input lag, but it doesn't seem nearly as noticable as with pure VSync on. VSync + Triple Buffering forced via D3DOverrider eliminated the input lag for me, but I think Adaptive VSync is nicer in that I get more consistent framerates and I'm not using up excess VRAM due to triple buffering.
