Nvidia 8900 Series

Well, this will be the "2nd gen" quad sli debut, so given the fact that many issues were ironed out with the 7950GX2's these newbies should play nicer with 3d apps this time around.. we can only hope. :)

Do you have any idea how badly Quad-SLI will disappoint? VR-Zone had a DIce'd 8800GTX SLI rig, and concluded that 4.5GHz QUAD-CORE was CPU-limited! (Bottom of page.)

Wouldn't be surprised to se a 65nm G90 with GDDR4 RAM, 192 stream processors, a 512 bit bus, and higher core clock and memory clocks out by Q4 than a 8900 refresh. That would surely crush the R600. Although, I may be dreaming.
You're definitely dreaming. GPU's have never been able to keep up with Intel in terms of process size. They have yet to implement 80nm, and you're already hoping for 65? They may have the 512-bit bus (if I'm wrong about the 384-bit structure), but 192 shaders is out of the question for now- the transistor count would be astronomical, and the die size is just prohibitively small (whodda thunk it about the 8800? ). I think that before they can even BEGIN to look at higher shader counts, they first need to integrate the RAMDACs into the main part of the G8x core. The dual-chip solution on the 8800 is half-assed, like a lot of nVidia's solutions these past couple of years. (nForce4 SLI x16 or nForce5, anyone?)
