I shifted around parts of my mythtv setup, and needed a new video card for one of my mythtv frontends. I bought a MSI NVidia 5200FX card (AGP), and put it in the system, and the S-video was black and white (including the bios screen, etc). Which to make matters more interesting, I have a "mad dog" GeForce4 MX440 which exhibits the same problem.
Now, the previous card in the system was a 5200 PCI, which worked fine with the S-Video (same TV, cabling), but I needed to put that card into another machine (re: Dell SC420
). Another card that I put in there was a ATI 9800 PRO (ATI branded), which worked fine. But, I don't want to waste that card on a non-HDTV HTPC.
So, here is how I break it down:
AGP:
MSI GeForce 5200FX (black and white)
"Mad Dog" GeForce4 MX440 (black and white)
ATI 9800 Pro COLOR!
PCI:
E-VGA GeForce 5200FX COLOR!
How can I get this !#*@)($&)!#!* card to work with SVideo in color (in linux)...?
the hardware setup is as follows:
ASUS P4P533
P4 2.8
Corsair 1GB
2 x PVR-250s
1x PVR-500
