Old system: Athlon XP 1600+ (fsb oc to 1900+), Abit NV7-133R (highpoint raid), 512mb, 2x Maxtor 80gb quiet drives, Geforce4 Ti4200 (oc).
New system: e6300 c2d, MSI P965 Platinum, 1gb xms2, 2x 7200.10 250gb, eVGA 7600GT.
The water cooling system, as if matters, is a maze4, MAG 12v pump, no reservoir (t-fitting with tube), and a Ford F250 heater core (already has 5/8" in AND out, $22). Need to buy a new top for the maze4 for the e6300.

I was in the process of backing up my old system when the water pump failed causing me to go to the backup stock cooler. In the process of installing the cooler, the tab that holds the flat blade screw driver broke off and needless to say the board is damaged. My c2d system was already on order and now I've been researching the ability to recover my Raid array.
2 Maxtor 80gb quiet drives (antiques), 3 partitions (20/120/20) hopefully not lost.
After some research I found a lot of discouraging forum posts. Then I found this site. Does anybody have experience with their software? It looks as if it should work and that hardware raid is easier to recover than software. The drives are NTFS but the partitions have different cluster size. 4/32/4kb. I'll post my results if I can get it to work. I doubt I'll be able to recover anything other than the data but that's all that's important.

It has a free trial, so i would try and it if works buy it and let me know about it..

I used GetDataBack by runtime before and was happy with it. I do not know if their RAID reconstructor is good.

I've had good luck with a product called File Scavenger. Saved my sanity in the past from a degraded RAID5 array that went belly up. They used to have a free version that would at least tell you if it could get any data back from the drive/array before you dumped money on it, might be worth a look.

Thanks. The new system has finally arrived. First things first, build it, then tackle the backup. It might be a week before I get too it, maybe a day, you all know how new builds go :) .
I don't think I'm going to use the new system for de-stripping. It only has a single ata133 channel and I don't feel like pushing 160gb down through it. I have a few other options but I'll be sure to report my results. Everybody say a little prayer for me :) .

No luck with the raid reconstruction software. The best I could pull out was mangled jpg's but nothing else :( .
Does anybody know if I can use a different motherboard with the same -133R ending? Would the highpoint chip be the same and allow for booting into safe mode or use a Linux Live CD to get the data?

You've got a Highpoint 372 controller on that board. Any other board with that (or the 374, which is the same thing with 4 ports instead of 2) should work okay.
