Pretty cheap too. Just think you could maybe buy two of these and flash their BIOS to an Ultra and run them in SLI. That way you only pay about $4,500 now and you don't have to wait for them to be released :).
 
512mb should enable smooth rates at res's higher than 1600x1200, not that we can't already achieve nice rates, but they will be higher with the more RAM. Also we can see what the "ultra" quality of doom3 has in store for us :eek:
 
these have been released now....
also, though you don't actually have a gig of graphics memory, as each card is only rendering half the screen (roughly in a huge generalisation) then you kind of do have 1gb of video ram.

It maybe have been said already, I dunno, I didn't read whole thread.. but here's my 2cents:

I think this 512MB of ram on these GPU's wont help much. I don't have any specific reason, but every1 is saying 128MB is enough for R9800Pro/XT and 256MB is too much for it, and that 256MB is for 6800/x800.. so imo puting 512MB on 6800U/x850 is like puiting 256MB on R9800/5900... eh?

Performance diff in 9800Pro 128/256MB is MINIMUM. (few %)
