A guy called Vegetto-eX have some NV40 info:

Well it's time, some of this info in not new and it was speculated before, now is just confirmed.
The card that was running those games was an NV40 ( it was an A2 revision ) clocked at 475mhz Core and 1.2ghz memory ( gddr3 ) and 256mb. The card IT IS 16x1 as the fillrate shows it. With 3dmark2001 give results of 7010 Mpixels/s for single texturing and 7234 Mpixels/s for multi texturing ( pretty impressive don't? ).The PS performance is boosted a lot, at least 2.5x faster and even got to 5x faster. The AA used in the pics is RGMSAA at 4x, the maximum AF ( on this drivers, 56.55 ) was 8x but I think that we will see 16x. In most of the games the performance was 2.5x to 3x faster than my FX5950 using high resolution and AA as well as AF and well the IQ...... what can I say? is far far better. Now some things, they were a lot of problems, mostly corrupted textures, but not in any of the tested games, I'm 100% sure that at launch the drivers will pack a lot more of features just for the NV40. In other thing, I can't argue that indeed there is some blurring in those SS, but first think:

1) if you don't zoom the picture it looks just damn good.
2) there are no final drivers, so no final AA or AF levels.
3) I'm not saying is better than ati or anything like that, I just think is WAY better than any other Nvidia card.

and for a matter of speed, remember that A2 is no the final revision, so the final "could" be a little faster. Well that's all... at least all I can say now, there is something else but I risk too much and I have a promise, maybe later in this month, but I have said everything I know, hope you like it, and again excuse my bad english

Halo ( no AA, 8x AF ) 1600x1200 51.1fps
Far Cry ( no AA, no AF ) 1600x1200 53.4fps
UT2004 ( 4xAA, 4xAF ) 1600x1200 71.9fps - 1280x960 82.9fps ( both botmach )
Star Wars Kotor ( 4xAA, 8xAF ) 1600x1200 49.3fps

For the conclusion of our CeBIT reporting of this year report we again on the most interesting rumors, which we snapped open in the course of the four days:
- the NV40-Architektur (16x1 for textures/farbwerte, 32x0 for z-values) was meanwhile already confirmed now by that x-to ten source. The chip is to become trueful gigantic.
- the NV40 will be faster than the R420. One can assume the R420 between 15% and 5% than its contractor from the house NVIDIA is slower.
- it will give two models of the R420: A pro map with 500Mhz chip and 475Mhz storing act and one?Nitro? map mentioned with 600Mhz chip and 550Mhz storing act.
- it is very probable that the R423 will have actually 16 pipelines, while the R420 with their 12 comes along. Possibly it concerns also the same chips with those dependent on the quality 4 pipelines (a Quad block) to deactivate itself or not.
- the R420 is as further R300-Refresh as well known a temporary solution. Accordingly ATi wants to rely all too no longer for a long time on architecture and bring soon the R500, whose development status progressed allegedly already very far. With the development of the R500 one can besides strongly on the support of Microsoft relies, since the technology is to be inserted use any form in the Xbox2.

oooo *excited if nvidia makes a comeback*

But ATi is being awful quiet about this whole thing... what do they have up their sleeve?

good point, which is why theres so little value in speculating. when both cards are out, and [H] has done an review on both, I'm sure we'll see who the real winner is.

Right now i'm a satisfied ATi user, now of course theres tons of hype around NV40, and of course everyone is buying it ...again. NV40 may be a revolutionary card the puts nV back on top ...but mabye not. By the time they are available for public use we'll know who the real winners are.

Ummm, KOTOR has a max screen resolution of 1280x1024, how did they pulll #'s from a resolution that is not supported by the game?

good point

why dont we just say it runs cs at 1600x1200 at 99fps :D

KOTOR does in fact support 1600x1200

http://www.bioware.com/games/knights_old_republic/support/known_issues/pc/

1.02: Unable to select certain resolutions (Back to Top)

KotOR PC supports the following resolutions:
800X600 1024X768 1280X960 1600X1200

Also, the only valid refresh rate selections are:

60 70 72 75 85

If you are using any sort of utility to force certain refresh rates, you may not be able to select that resolution in KotOR and you should disable such utilities before trying to play.

1280x1024 was recently added in a patch.

But ATi is being awful quiet about this whole thing... what do they have up their sleeve?

They have gfx card family of products thats selling prety well and they are ahead of competition. Their margins will only decrese with the new product family. All in all dont expect them to lunch before nvidia.

Uh ya bob, except Nvidia hasn't done any hyping.

Do you really beleive that? Many "leaks" are part of a well-designed campaign. I will not say where (NOT nVidia, I have never worked for them), but there was a time where I was told to "leak" info, some of which was false or designed to be misleading.

Wow, you know what? I run those framerates NOW on my current setup.

Bogus, BS theortical benchmark numbers is all im seeing.
