Well, this maybe not be breaking news hot and fresh out of the pot, but it seems that Nvidia is ready to assult Intel platforms with its new NForce 4 chipchset which supports SLI. Intel users, would this be good news?

I don't buy it. First of all, what happened to the rumored 1200FSB support for OC-friendly mobos?
Second, "nForce4 for Intel" is too confusing for the consumer. I may have already posted that I don't expect them to use ANY nForce moniker for this product- it will probably be similar, but ATI is the only company that uses similar names for its AMD and Intel chipsets to date: VIA uses KT/K8T vs. PT and SiS uses different number series. IGP320 & IGP340 were almost the same anyway, and R_400 & R_480 are only codenames.

meh...i find this terribly uninteresting

lol, nice upgrade bud. how are things on your side of town? :)

the p4 i could give a shit about... their dual core solution will be quite interesting though.... the p3 is a much nicer proc.

now that with SLI is something to consider.

early adopters will know what they are getting into nothing wrong with someone interested in sli and a p4. i wouldnt jump on sli just yet, dont feel its mature enough. however i do feel jealous of the ones that have the loot to slurge on it.

it works well with all the commercially important games. :D

Important to who? You... ? Ok...

Perhaps as long as you arent trying to play WS on a LCD...

ok let me break this down for you..

It's good news to me. Allthough it's older news. I just wish more SLi solutions could be had for the Pentium 4 right now.

It's been done with the i915P chipset. Doesn't make sense to me. I want one that supports the 1066MHz FSB and is from a more reputable manufacturer like Abit or Asus. The Gigabyte board that is out, isn't easy to find if it can be found at all and I won't buy it because I hate Gigabyte.

No surprise, they were actually using it at Quakecon. If you check this image from Quakecon, you can see the mobo has an Intel chipset. ;) That pic was in the interior of a CM Stacker at the nVidia booth. Here is the URL for the homepage of the picture.

eh, this is old news. When nVidia announced C19, people figured SLI was coming.

And why wouldn't it? Now nVidia will also appeal to the other half of the enthusiast market, and could potentially breakthrough to the consumer market.

A SLI/NV dominated world?......*shudder*...... ;)

Intel will take any help they can get as they are losing popularity to AMD.
