This might be a dumb question can you do multi-display gaming (3 monitor) with a 580 GTX and a 570 GTX?
 
No, you need two identical cards in sli for NV surround. You could run 3 monitors, but not in surround. You would need any 2 570s, or any 2 580s
 
Plus your monitors need to have identical resolutions, refresh rate and sync polarity.
 
and bezels, and stands, and...oh wait...no.... those are just the important things :D
 
You can only run 2 monitors off of any single gpu nvidia card. You will need a pair to run more than 2.
