I was having repeated disk boot failures, fixed by a CMOS reset on startup. I tried multiple things, and uninstalling nTune has seemed to fix the issue.

However, I need nTune to step down the fan on my 680i. Why was my nTune version (which was the one that came on the EVGA mobo CD) causing problems, when I'm using almost the same rig as quite a few people?
