I was having repeated disk boot failures, fixed by a CMOS reset on startup. I tried multiple things, and uninstalling nTune has seemed to fix the issue.

    See here: http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1122131
However, I need nTune to step down the fan on my 680i. Why was my nTune version (which was the one that came on the EVGA mobo CD) causing problems, when I'm using almost the same rig as quite a few people?

    e6600,
    680i,
    raptor 150gb,
    8800 gtx,
    2gb corsair xms2.

How can I turn down the MCP fan w/o nTune?
How can I find a non buggy version of nTune?
How can I find what was causing the conflict within nTune?
