I reformatted last night, reinstalled everything, have all my stuff backed up on back-up hard drives, and everything is running fine. This morning I sit down, boot-up, and this blue screen comes up that says its running a disk check NTFS file system type thing on my drive called Video, which is a 250gb slave. All the sudden it lists at least 20 things it's deleted, one of which I noticed fast enough to realize it was half of a movie.

What caused it to do this and how can I check what was deleted?I have no way of knowing why this happened and what is missing now, because the drive is so big and a lot of things, though catergorized, are on it.

Thanks for any help.

What causes data corruption?

Overclocking
Incorrect memory timmings
Bad ide cables
Messed up partitions
Motherboard going bad
Hard disk going bad

Try running the hard disk diagnostic tool, also try loading bios defaults and check your memory for errors with memtest86.

Good Luck

pretty good list, but you forgot

power event\improper shutdown

and the leading cause
bad memory ;)

almost everyone employs unbuffered memory, which even when it is functionng correctly is suceptible to soft errors
