Hey everone, Ive been partitoning my drives with NTFS for a while but just recently I saw somewhere (Some guide or something) that some guy had a FAT32 partiton purely for MP3's. Is there any advandage of FAT32 for a pure Data Partiton?

The only advantage FAT32 has over NTFS is that it's faster than the latter, because it doesn't have the overhead of a journaled filesystem.

Of course, FAT32 is also really good at corrupting data the next time the system is shut down unexpectedly. The speed gain of using FAT32 with anything more modern than a P1 is also less than a percent, so there's no reason whatsoever to use FAT32 (aside from compatibility issues, e.g. dual-booting with Win9x).

Another advantage would be Linux being able to write to FAT32 but not NTFS (atm, it's still experimental).
