As per the title - does anyone know of an NTFS boot disk that has USB support. I have a possibly corrupted laptop HD which won;t boot and I have no wa of removing the drive and pluggijg it in to another rig, so I;d like to try to use a boot disk and then copy data across to a USB drive...

Thanks

There are ways to do it, sort-of, but it's a pain and not very useful in the end. I have to recommend that instead of a DOS disks, use a Linux live-CD to copy your stuff. You will probably need the USB disk to be formatted to fat32, because most live-CD's will only support ntfs as read only.

You might also look in to BartPE. I know that it comes with at least basic driver support for USB and networking. I think I remember reading somewhere that you can add drivers to the disc when it's made, but don't hold me to that.

If you haven't used it, BartPE is fantastic and a great disc to have sitting around for recovery problems. Check it out here and see what you think.
