Well my hard drive that was formatted NTFS became RAW today, I tried using programs to get the data back or something but all required money or activation. One of the programs read the hard drive so I know everything is still there.

Now how would I go about making this "RAW" drive NTFS again, or can I? If not how do I get the data back?

Any suggestions greatly appreciated. :)

Well I somehow fixed it so I don't need the help anymore. But man that was crazy.

For the sake of anybody who comes across this thread in the future, what'd you do to fix it?

Well you know how you can do a checkdisk on the startup of windows XP, I don't know when or why it does a checkdisk but it just so happened it did after I installed XP on another HDD and it checkdisked my corrupted HDD and it said it was formatted NTFS, not RAW. So I rebooted with just the Hard Drive that I thought corrupted and it worked. :)

Now if anyone can explain how I did that, like how do you run a checkdisk?

anyways woot! Got my HDD running again :D

in windows, right click drive / properties / tools / check disk

if the drive is in use, windows will scan it on the next boot.
