or is it? i dunno. been to that ocforums thread already. fak. i couldve easily afforded those level II sticks 3 months ago.

anyway, ill have an NFII Ultra Infinity (or maybe an NF7-S) and a 2500+ mobile on the way soon and i was wondering if this XMS 3500 i got might do 250MHz at no higher than 2-3-3.

if it wont, what memory will?

xms3500c2 is the same stuff as mushkin, BH-5

as long as it's v1.1, and afaik, most is

LOL

ALL XMS3500C2 EVER MADE were BH-5:p :D
revision doesn't matter.

Get the Infinity ..you'll need the higher Vdimm for those chips, and to put it quite plainly ..NEW 2.0 NF7-S's suck as does the AN7

well i dont have the C2, just XMS 3500. and i dont see any C2 PC3500 on Newegg or TigerDirect.
ive heard people talk about this Ultra brand but no one thats actually tried it.

XMS is the only kind of performance memory ive used, so id feel fine about getting some 3500C2 somewhere.

If you want BH-5 ram, zipzoomfly.com has it. Its under the Kingston HyperX stuff PC3200 get the stick with timmings listed at 2/2/2/6

well, i want whatever will get me at least 250FSB at no more than 2-3-3. :D

can KHX PC3200 do that?

anyway, thats good news as I want to pick up some of that stuff soon

I was eyeing the Ultra ram today too.

Specifications:
Memory Size 256MB
Memory Speed 433MHz PC3500
Memory CAS Latency 2-2-2-6-T1

Price is $90 bux canadian at tigerdirect.ca and same stuff $65 us at tigerdirect.com

As long as this is as it says I'd be happy. But if it lived up to the "overclocking ram", even better.

Trying to find cheap ram with the good timings and some good fsb like this.

Your expectations are pretty high. It will take quite a bit of volts for good RAM like that XMS or LII black to run 250 at tight timings. It might not even do it, so don't be disappointed if it doesn't work out.

get the hyperx 3000, because 90 percent of them are bh-5's and the rest are bh-6's which arent that bad themselves. Also newegg has the chips for 100$ for 512 megs.

 And how do they suck? If you are talking about overclocking the AN7 isn't very hot but what is wrong with the NF7-S v2?

DFI already has fanboys, damn....

IMO ..they "suck" because there's some unknown reason why a GREAT number of the AN7 and the latest turn-outs of REV 2.0 nf7-S seem to have trouble getting past 215-225FSB with CPU interface enabled. If you go to Abit heavens, like xtremesystems and abit/amdmb.com ..you'd see this and it has been overly discussed

And Yes ..i do call 225fsb not "good enough" when you have other boards currently capable of MUCH better results. Maybe "suck" wasn't the right word, the point is Abit boards aren't what they used to be.

So NOW let ME ask this one question....WHY the hell should I recommend the NF7-S over those other boards?

because abit used to be good.

and look, abit has fanboys too!

i had no problem with abit untill i saw the horrible rush job the AN7 was. it was suposed to to have the new SB and be a great board. but it was horrible and had more than 5 hand soldered parts on it. it was unstable and had too many issues to be released to the public, then immediatly after the NF7's started to suck. so thats why i would not recomend them.

the DFI are solid boards, and ive yet to see one get less that 230mhz!

You shouldn't. The DFI is a better board. I am not bashing you or DFI in anyway, I just don't think you should go around saying the NF7-S, etc. sucks. Now I have been busy with classes and midterms so I have not been up on Abits latest offerings, but my NF7-S is a solid mother fucker, far some "sucking".

youre running at 200fsb.. sure thats good enough for you, but no nf7s ever touched the fsbs that the infinitys are. "sucking" really is a relative term.. it used to be the best, true, and its a hell of alot better than some boards on the same platform you can get, but compared to the infinity, it does indeed "suck". It is also true, that newer nf7s, compared to their former selves, do indeed "suck" also. You cant really rat on someone for posting information that is really just an opinion, and one that follows the general concensus, while stating that you really havent been up on things yourself.

i count 10 lines, but line size is determined by resolution. So it looks like 10 lines on my screen, but if u have a smaller screen size, then it may look like more than 10
