hello, i'm new to audio. i been wanted to run some speakers on an amp but i always thought it requires those big receivers that produces a lot of heat. i now found out that all i need is a t amp to run a pair of speakers? how do i connect to computer after i got the t amp and speakers hooked up? i'm on a budget, what kind of amp would you guys recommend? thanks

Probably a pair of Insignia from BB and as for sound card, probably a cheap one or none at all.

well, you could check out Craigslist in your area for some speakers. The larger sized speakers will usually do better with the T-amp than the smaller ones.

Look for db sensitivity of 89-92 on any speaker with a t-amp.

The Insignias are 87db I think. They will work but a large speaker with a 12" woofer will actually play louder.

Also, you need a 1/8th stereo to 1/8th stereo cable (like a headphone jack at the ends), plug it into your pc front speaker output and go.

Clarity is my goal, will bigger speakers be better for clarity?

Depends on the speakers, big cheap ones won't be better than small quality ones. And how they're positioned makes a difference - big floorstanding ones that are severely off-axis won't sound as good as small bookshelves that you can place at listening height.

might just want to get a swan M10 setup and be done. easy to setup and the clarity is unrivalled at that pricepoint.

I would love to but I would hate having the third speaker on my desk.
