My system:
3200+ XP
Akasa fan (795)
A7N8X-X
9800 Pro
512 mb 333 DDR
After some initial problems (exploding PSUs!), I finally got this rig working.
I have never bothered about the cooling side of things before as I do not plan to overclock.
However, the exploding PSUs have made me think about it, as prior to exploding, one of the PSUs blew out very hot air very quickly.
Initially, I had 1 case fan blowing in (PSU fan blows out)the temperatures I was getting were:
Idle
CPU: 51c
Mobo: 32c
After 20mins of Far Cry:
Cpu: 55 -56
Mobo 34
After I added another case fan blowing out:
Idle:
CPU: 50c
Mobo 30c
After Far Cry:
CPU: 55
Mobo: 32
This morning, (nothing has changed, apart that my PC is 4 days old now):
Idle:
CPU: 47/8c
Mobo: 28c
After Far Cry:
CPU: 51/2c
Mobo 31c
Now, what's caused that - temp to come downafter a few days? And will I need further cooling? It seems quite hot for the cpu to be around the 50 mark all the time.
Thanks in advance.
