I have an EVGA ssc 1060 right now because my 970 took a crap and I sent my friend my old 760 so I had nothing to fall back on.

I am going to be purchasing a 120+ hz monitor soon and I'm not sure if the 1060 will push what I want, in mostly battlefield 1.

Is the 1070 a noticeable difference than the 1060? I see many many threads regarding upgrading to 1070 or 1080 from previous generations but not when it comes to a 1060. I figure I could probably get $175-200 for my 1060 and throw that at a sub $400 1070. But I don't really want to blow $175 more if I'm not going to see a big difference. From what I see the 1070 and 1080 are a pretty big leap from the 1060s. I'd just like more people to weigh in and reassure that it's a good move for my gaming performance. Or is it not worth it? I'm capped at 60 most of the time in bf1 with my 1060 but I'm looking to get over 100 for my new monitor. I'm okay with turning all my settings down to achieve this but would that be enough to push my game to higher fps where I'll want it?

I figure the 1060 would be just fine for 1080p (120hz)...if your going 1440p then look into the 1070's

There's like a bajillion BF1 performance reviews....

Here's one... http://www.guru3d.com/articles_pages/battlefield_1_pc_graphics_benchmark_review,7.html
Those are offline probably with a better CPU. I'm going to be playing other games probably also. Titanfall 2 looks good. Just don't know if my GPU isn't pushing above 100 fps is it just going to be worthless. Mostly my question is for someone who's played multiplayer games with a 1060 and a 1070. Is it a worthy step up performance wise.

I just turned off vsync and put bf1 to 'low' settings and I'm around 60-70 fps. That's way lower than the performance benchmarks. What the fuck. With my 4670k which is still respectable. That's clearly not going to cut it. It hardly makes a difference from low to high settings. Guess I'll just end up getting a 1070 and a 120 hz monitor.

if i had to guess bf1 can run better with more than 4 cores...So yea "Some" cpu bottle neck you got there

I don't think I'm ever under 80% utilization on my 3770k when playing BF1 in a full or nearly full 64 player server
