I was reading in CPU mag about FIC selling notebook shells basically making laptops whitebox. Which I think is good, given how expensive laptops are and there really isn't anything significantly different between them and a Desktop PC. Anyways I was doing a search for FIC's notebook shell and, I was wondering if any more might exist (not by FIC) if so I might be looking at making my next PC a notebook, instead of a desktop. I can't find any information on FIC's website but, here's a link to give you an idea what I'm talking about.

You guys/girls know of any other companies that are doing something simular. Also I think this is the start of a new trend.

ASUS does offer whitebooks. You can buy them empty and add the basics yourself. I saw on the AMD tech tour they will announcing an AMD64 with 128mb Radeon 9700 soon also.

I need a 12" whitebox laptop.. anyone have any retailers that sell any?

dont waste the money on a whitebook unless it has an empty graphics slot, or at the very least upgradable graphics.
