I am looking for a notebook for personal and business use, and I'd like some advice. I'll be traveling with it somewhat frequently, so I want something lighter than my current 15" behemoth. However, it will often be a stand-alone so a 14" screen is probably best. It will be my only computer, and I want to be able to play a few games (no hardcore gaming, I just need enough power to play some recent titles at decent graphics settings).
I am considering buying the HP dv2000z. I would get it more or less fully loaded. I like it because it comes with a good amount of processing and graphics power, it is just 5.3 lbs., and it's under $2,000 even when I customize it. I'd like to know if anyone has any thoughts on this laptop, HP in general, or any good alternatives that I should consider. I'm flexible in price range and CPU power, but portability, screen size, and graphics are harder to sacrifice. Thanks in advance.
Also, is there any reason to get 2GB of RAM on a computer that isn't for intensive gaming or video editing? I've been out of touch with the computing world for awhile, so even 1GB still sounds outrageous to me.
