Not working, HELP!

OK today I went to the computer show and picked up a new LED fan, fan grill, cathode light, and a new hsf (Volcano 9). I hooked everything up and when I go to turn it on my HDD starts spinning then stops then starts then stops... etc (in 1 second intervals), it sounds like its the computer is in a never ending cycle. When I was trying to take off my old hsf I slipped on brackets a few times and hit the mobo, i looked carefully and it doesnt appear to be any damage.

Now the New Volcano 9 is a little weird cause the three pin connector for the power/sensor are split up. Instead of all three cables on the same connector the 2 power and one sensor are connected to seperate connectors. I have the sensor one connected to the 3 pin connector where is normally goes and the other one has a molex adapter which is also connected. Im thinking that maybe cause all three cables arnt connected to the primary 3 pin connector that the computer isnt reckognizing that theres a hsf there so its preventing it from turning on.

Any ideas?
 
Connected the old HSF and the problem still presits, took out cathode and LED fan and still get the same problems... I also disconnected the HDDs and the same thing is happening... think my mobo or CPU or PSU took a crap?
 
OK I pulled out my PSU and put it back in and moved all three of the wires on my hsf onto the same 3 pin connector and now it works:D
 
Fuck, its working now but it keeps restarting at any time. I tried loading ut2k4 and Enemy Territory but both times it restarted. Im checking my voltages in BIOS and they keep going all over the place. I checked my temps but they are fine, but the voltages are really unstable. I turned off my cathode light but its still restarting.

Any ideas?
 
My friend had a cheap AMD heatsink that came with his Tigerdirect barebones kit. His mom tried putting it on with a regular screwdriver and she cut through like 7 traces on the motherboard. We called tech support and rmaed the board.

Chances are you destroyed your motherboard. because even if its just one trace that cut it might still work. You probably destroyed the voltage regulator.

Not using the tools in the intsructions or not reading directions can really mess you up.

I would RMA the board if I were you.
